Continuing the long history of PilatStellar dating back to the 20th century of the old Earth calendar, the PT-31 Lead Trainer is one of the industries most advanced light space craft training vessels in production and has proven itself as a leader amongst the competition. Offering superior training value for both Military and Civil use the PT-31 is docile enough for a beginner, yet has sufficient power for more demanding basic and advanced phases of training and is the only trainer less than 50 tons with jump capability.
Using the latest in modern cockpit design the PT-31 is highly regarded by instructors as a spacecraft with high performance and excellent handling ability, making it an ideal platform for training future pilots for any craft they may encounter as they graduate to larger ships.
While the PilatStellar PT-31 first entered service almost two hundred years ago the Mark 4 continues the existing cycle of upgrades and improvements to the tried and tested frame. We have introduced a full neural link interface, the latest in holo-control display and interactive devices, all while working to reduce operational and lifecycle costs. These latest upgrades have evolved the PT-31 once more allowing the next generation of pilots the capability to not only learn hands on flying but also step out of the simulator and into a real craft while learning neural interface piloting, without the costly upkeep of larger more dedicated platforms.
Not only can the PT-31 serve as a trainer but also as a light fighter, as all models come equipped with two standardized type 32 hard points fully wired and integrated with the on-board ship computer systems and able to carry a load of up to 5 tons each.
Finally as a Manufacturer with a proven history of assisting defence and civil agencies train their front line pilot’s PilatStellar develops completely integrated training systems and the PT-31 package includes an extensive array of training devices from VI classroom instruction through to full simulation work up, all with the proven fidelity that PilatStellar is known for.
With over 43,000 ships in active service over 130 systems the PT-31 (Mk 3 and 4) are in use by over 43 distinct defence and corporate agencies throughout the confederation and corporate systems.
The PT-31 Mk 4 is powered by a Pratt-Interstellar PI-661 capable of 500g acceleration dampened through inertia sump to a maximum of 7g on the occupants and is one of the first compact Ion Drive power plants capable of interstellar jump capability.
